LATAM flies non-stop from Melbourne and Sydney to Santiago on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Because you cross the date line, you typically land in Santiago the same morning you left. From Santiago, LATAM connects onward to Lima, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Quito and many more, so your flights link straight into whichever journey you choose. Our specialists will build the flights around your tour.

If you want the icons in a shorter trip, the 16 Day Highlights of South America covers Peru, Brazil and Argentina. The 19 Day Inspiring South America adds two nights in the Amazon and more time in each place. If you have longer, an extended Inspiring South America journey adds Santiago - where LATAM lands - the Galapagos, the Bolivian salt flats, Easter Island, Patagonia or Antarctica.

Our South America packages are land only, with all internal flights, coach, rail and boat transportation within the itinerary included. International flights are booked separately, and that is where the LATAM flight credit comes in. Speak with a travel specialist on 1300 88 66 88 and we will build the flights around your journey. Arrival and departure transfers are not included.

Cusco sits at around 3,400 metres and Lake Titicaca at around 3,800 metres, so some breathlessness and headaches are common for the first day or two. The itineraries are paced to help you acclimatise, with time in the lower Sacred Valley before Cusco. We recommend speaking with your GP before travel, and your final documentation includes guidance on altitude.

It depends where you are going. The Andes, including Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, are driest between May and September. Patagonia is best in its summer, from around November to March. Iguazu Falls and Rio can be visited year round, and the Galapagos has wildlife highlights in every season. Departures run across 2027 and 2028, so there is a journey for every season.

Our Inspiring South America small group tours take no more than 20 guests. You are escorted by English-speaking guides in each region, excluding on internal flights.
